How Many Small Businesses Fail?

It’s hard to lump all businesses together, but the fact remains that the failure rate for all businesses, across the board, is high.

According to the WashingtonPost.com, the survival rate is as follows…

25% fail after the first year.

Around 35% fail after the second year.

45% have failed by year three.

And almost 50% have failed after 5 years.

And it continues to fall year after year.

In this video I discuss how many small businesses fail.

Why?

It’s simply because most people who start a business have NO CLUE what they are doing.

Most of the time…

People with no experience…

In the spur of a moment…

Decide they’re going to take their life savings and start a business.

Without any skills…

It’s a horrible idea!

If you bet the farm, you may lose it!

I know what you must be thinking…

Thanks for crushing my dreams Paul.

Now you’re saying that I shouldn’t start a business?

That’s not what I’m saying, at all.

What I’m saying is that you need to learn as much as possible BEFORE starting your business.

What’s the solution?

I’m not talking about going back to school for another 4 years.

I’m talking about the kind of education you can’t get in school.

I’m talking about books, cd’s, dvd’s, mentorship and anything else you can get your hands on that will move give the skills to succeed.

One of the best ways I’ve found is to find someone who is doing what you want to do and team up with them.

Find someone in the niche that you want to be in and see if they will help.

If you are going to be a competitor that might be a difficult sell.

This is one of the biggest reasons I like network marketing.

Network marketing is a great way to cut your teeth in a business with very little capital.

You don’t have to put in your life savings to get a highly leveraged business up and running.

You can usually start for a few hundred dollars and learn as you go.

You can also find all kinds of help.

It is an amazing community of people helping people.

I have been working from home since 2007.

Since then, there has been good times and there has been rough times…

But I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I have decided that…

Over the next year I am personally going to work with 10 people to help them in their business.

It’s tough to work with more than that at a time.

I am only going to work with people who are extremely serious about building a business.

If you always have an excuse as to why you can’t work on your business.

I can’t help you.

If you are NOT coachable I can’t help you.

There is nothing worse than trying to help someone who isn’t having any success, but they already know everything.

On the other hand…

If you are willing to work your ass off and learn some new skills.

I would love to work with you.
